In the past several years, Mr. Hippe has been engaged by over a hundred individuals and businesses dealing with a myriad of general civil problems, from federal RICO defense, to commercial litigation disputes, to professional malpractice, to divorce and family matters, including restraining orders, to bankruptcy, to help with probate situations, some simple, some complex. General Civil:
Mr. Hippe has secured excellent results for clients, both plaintiffs and defendants, in hearings, contested evidentiary hearings, and trial matters in multiple counties across North Georgia. As one recent specific example, in a divorce case, Mr. Hippe secured the immediate release of a client from improper incarceration on a contempt sanction entered prior to Mr. Hippe’s engagement. Mr. Hippe then defeated a highly respected divorce firm during a subsequent contested hearing in Cobb Superior Court to keep his client out of jail. Presently, as of June 2009, Mr. Hippe is lead counsel and is successfully defending two federal civil cases, one a complex RICO action, and is lead counsel for plaintiff clients in multiple civil litigation cases involving jury trials in state courts.
Bankruptcy:
Mr. Hippe has dealings with all ranges of bankruptcy from simple individual Chapter 7 cases, to Chapter 13 work ups, to Chapter 11 reorganization. Mr. Hippe has secured discharges for individual clients in numerous Chapter 7 cases, has successfully dealt with the U.S. Trustee’s office on challenges to debtor Chapter 7 qualifications, and has counseled numerous clients on alternatives to bankruptcy filings and the various chapters of relief available to individuals and businesses. Mr. Hippe has been approved to represent corporate debtors in Chapter 11 cases.
Divorce:
Mr. Hippe has recently handled and is presently involved in numerous divorces, both contested and non-contested, custody disputes, alimony disputes, child support disputes and modifications, restraining orders, protective orders, and so on. When dealing with these type issues, Mr. Hippe tries to fully advise his clients on the advantages and cost savings of uncontested or amicably resolved divorce situations, particularly where children are involved. When retained to file a divorce, unless violence is involved, Mr. Hippe encourages counseling as a pre-condition to a divorce filing.
Probate:
Mr. Hippe has successfully handled and resolved a contested years support trial and a caveat to the probate of a will wherein his client, who claimed he was inappropriately excluded from a will, successfully challenged probate. Mr. Hippe has also handled other less complex probates of wills and administrations of estates where there is no conflict between the beneficiaries or heirs or challenges to the estate.
Prior Real Estate Experience:
Mr. Hippe prior experience (1997-2006) was as the owner of a highly successful residential real estate closing firm. His firm was responsible for handling of 20,000 transactions totally over 2 billion dollars in gross loan value representing the top local and national lenders and Chicago Title.
